Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Harbor (“the Service”), operated by Harbor (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Harbor is designed for use by parents and guardians (“Parents”) on behalf of their children (“Child Creators”), and by approved followers (“Followers”) who are invited by Parents. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

2. Description of Service

Harbor is a private publishing platform that allows children to create and share content — including written posts, audio recordings, and images — with a parent-approved audience. Key features include:

  • Parent-managed publications on behalf of children
  • Content review and approval by parents before publication
  • Invite-only follower access with parent approval
  • Comment moderation by parents
  • Audio recording and playback

3. Accounts and Registration

To use Harbor, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when registering
  • Keep your account credentials secure
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

4. Parent Responsibilities

Parents who create publications on Harbor are responsible for:

  • Obtaining any necessary consent for their child's use of the Service
  • Supervising their child's content creation and use of the platform
  • Reviewing and approving content before it is published
  • Managing follower access to their child's publication
  • Moderating comments on their child's content
  • Ensuring their child's use complies with these Terms

5. Content

You retain ownership of all content you or your child creates on Harbor. By posting content, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and distribute that content to your approved audience as necessary to provide the Service.

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
  • Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malicious code or links
  • Violates the privacy of others
  • Is spam or commercial solicitation

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, at our sole discretion.

6. Follower Conduct

Followers who are granted access to a publication agree to:

  • Interact respectfully with content created by children
  • Not share, redistribute, or screenshot content from publications without parent permission
  • Not contact child creators outside of the Harbor platform
  • Comply with comment moderation decisions made by parents

7. Privacy and Children's Data

We take the privacy of children seriously. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect personal information, including information about children under 13 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will make reasonable efforts to allow you to export your content before deletion.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Harbor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
